Majoring in Engineering and Computer Science can be difficult at times given the rigorous curriculum and degree requirements that students face. The Engineering Advising Center is here to help you get through the tough times, show you the tools you will need to become a successful student, and guide you towards graduation.
To better assist our students in their first year at UNLV, the Engineering Advising Center has created a new student orientation program entitled, Engineering Survival 101: Its Not Rocket Science. This program is comprised of a New Student To Do List, the Group Advising Presentation, and the Engineering Survival Guide.
These materials will give you important placement and registration information, as well as some guidance on how to succeed at UNLV:
- The New Student To Do List: This list will help you keep track of all the things you need to do before you start classes at UNLV.
- Group Advising Presentation: This presentation reviews important academic policies, campus resources, and procedures on how to register for classes your first semester.
- The Engineering Survival Guide: This guide gives you some useful hints on how to survive your first year of college and how to make the most of your experiences at UNLV.
Remember to register for The UNLV New Student Orientation ProgramREBEL CONNECTION. The College of Engineering will be sponsoring special events for new students and their families, and we urge you to attend as many orientation events as you can. By attending these events you and your family will receive a better understanding of what is expected of you; as well as have the opportunity to meet your fellow classmates and our Colleges faculty and staff. The Orientation schedule is available on the web at http://orientation.unlv.edu.
Again, congratulations for being accepted to the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering. We looking forward to seeing you on campus and wish you an enjoyable and successful experience at UNLV.
GO REBELS!
