Engineering Registration Advising

Helpful hints to prepare for your advising session

Prior to attending an advising session, you should:

• Review the on-line course listing for the following semester
• Review your degree checklist/flowchart and draft a course schedule
• Review the catalog to check course prerequisites and corequisites
• Obtain a copy of your Degree-Audit Report (DARS) Report from your on-line registration account
• Draft a list of questions to ask your advisor

During your advising session, you should:

• Review your course schedule for the following semester with your advisor
• Inform your advisor of any errors on your DARS Report
• Let your advisor know if you are having any problems in your courses (especially if impacts your financial aid or visa status)
• Let your advisor know if you are enjoying enjoying particular courses
• Ask your advisor any questions you may have
